SMITHSONIAN ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH CENTER (SERC) SPRING FAMILY DAY
Saturday, May 19, 2012, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM I SMITHSONIAN ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH CENTER, 647 CONTEES WHARF ROAD, EDGEWATER, MD
(For all ages) Talk to Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) scientists about invasive species, hold a live horseshoe crab, and learn how much mercury is in your fish. Also, sign up for one of three 1-hour boat rides on the Rhode River ($5/person), try seining or crabbing, and visit an oyster bar community. Bring a picnic lunch or register online for food tickets. Free, but advance registration required; Note: Due to construction of a new laboratory -- the greenest laboratory in the country -- SERC can't accommodate large crowds this year, so registration is required. Purchase tickets online. For more information, call 443-482-2300.

INVITATION TO THE BALLET WITH MISAKO BALLET
Wednesday, May 30, 2012: 6:30 PM I MILLER BRANCH, ELLICOTT CITY
A concert featuring ballet with Japanese and classical themes and contemporary dances. Includes an opportunity for children to learn and perform a short piece. All ages; 30 - 40 min.
